Required to attend Rules Class -- GCA Claim Code 91

I am regularly assigned to the TP250 RE55 pool and was required by the Carrier to attend a mandatory 2-day rules class. My assignment does not have assigned rest days and I was instructed by CMS to attend the class on 05/22/02 and 05/23/02. My turn saw service on the first day of the class on train RFWFW-22 and I claim all time lost for 05/22/02. On the second day of the class my assignment was not used and, since no time was lost on that day, I am claiming a basic day for attending the class on 05/23/02, which was an off day for my assignment.

NOTE 1: You must attend class during off duty hours, if your assignment has assigned rest days and a class is available and has openings on those rest days, before the Carrier becomes liable for paying you for loss of earnings.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION FOR SUCCESSFUL ADJUDICATION

1. Copy of the mileage report for your board to show who worked in your absence and what they worked. To get this mileage report, enter KB-M, which will bring up a form to fill out. Fill out the form as indicated, including your circ7 and board ID, the date range of your absence and put the letter N where it asks you for the detailed summary with names.
2. Copy of the transaction log or a copy of the board standings showing your layoff status as OS for rules/simulator class.

OPTIONAL DOCUMENTATION OFFERING A BETTER CHANCE AT SUCCESS

1. Copy of your work history for the dates you attended class (must be obtained by a Local Chairman or UP Manager.
